Books and reports

Sometimes there’s nothing better than a book to communicate your ideas and connect with your audience.

Whether you want a 50,000-word reference book or a rhyming children’s picture book, I can write the text or make your contributors’ work sparkle – and manage the design and print too if you like. Take a look at some of my books…

Choosing Childcare

Cross Publishing commissioned me to write Choosing Childcare: Nurseries, Childminders, Nannies, Au Pairs, Family, a practical guide to choosing the right childcare for your family. This 200-page handbook explores the pros and cons of every type of childcare and gives the lowdown on parental leave, flexible working, financial support, and juggling work and family life, all backed up with advice and anecdotes from working parents.

TV parenting guru Sue Atkins called it “a fabulous book! Invaluable, practical, comprehensive and bursting with information.”

King's College London impact report

“King’s College London’s World questions | King’s answers campaign raised an incredible £610m in just five years, funding breakthroughs in medical research, counter-terrorism, international development, student support and much more. I was lead writer on the powerful impact report that King’s produced with creative agency pslondon to celebrate the campaign’s successes and thank donors for their support.

Arni's Epic Adventures

Arni’s Epic Adventures started life as a wordless 20-part comic strip, rolled out on thousands of JC Decaux digital advertising screens nationwide as part of their #beframeus art showcase project. Wanting to bring together the complete artwork in a book for Christmas, the outdoor ad specialists commissioned me to write a rhyming text suitable for young children to accompany the illustrations.

Mental Disorders, Mental Illness and the Family Court

Written by four professional experts, Mental Disorders, Mental Illness and the Family Court explains how different mental conditions in children or parents may impact Family Court proceedings. The Judicial College asked me to edit the book to give it a consistent style, accessible tone and user-friendly structure. The end result will be soon published by Bloomsbury Professional.

The Regent's Report

The Regent’s Report is Regent’s University London’s flagship academic publication for policy-makers and decision-takers in governments, NGOs and academia. I project managed the 2015 edition: Europe’s Neighbours: From Morocco to Moscow, working with the commissioning editors and designer to bring together 80,000 words of cutting-edge political analysis from 35 international contributors.

In 2015 Cross Publishing commissioned me to write a guide to help parents explore their childcare options. Choosing Childcare: Nurseries, Childminders, Nannies, Au Pairs, Family explores the pros and cons of every type of childcare and gives the lowdown on parental leave, flexible working rights, financial support and ideas for juggling work and family life, all backed up with real-life stories and advice from working parents. Choosing Childcare is the most wide-ranging and impartial guide to childcare in the UK. TV parenting guru Sue Atkins called it “a fabulous book! Invaluable, practical, comprehensive and bursting with information.”
